It's no that microtransactions are an unfortunate reality. It's that they make their reality of their costs OUR problem. Most of them, it's just greed. Whether it's the fault of the publisher or the developer(or both), they make their problems our problems. Make better games. Spend less money and still make a fantastic product. Whether we're talking about NBA 2K19, or some other game, just make better games and people will buy them. It's really that simple. NBA 2K19 producer just needs a tall glass of wake the hell up!
