How can you collect a precious deep-sea sample if you can't see?! 🤔

MIT-WHOI joint program student Amy Phung is developing a cutting-edge robotic arm to help underwater vehicle pilots navigate murky waters. Combining visual and sonar data, Phung aims to help researchers "see" through turbid conditions and even perform dangerous tasks like removing unexploded munitions from the seafloor. 🦾
