Our West Senior Pastor, Seth Swindall, continues week seven of our teaching series, The Life of Abraham.
God doesn’t call us to stay immature, He calls us to grow up. Through the life of Abraham, we see that maturity doesn’t happen overnight. It happens through a long walk with God, where He patiently shapes us, corrects us, heals us, and forms us into the people He created us to be. From Genesis 12 to Genesis 22, Abraham moves from a place of early obedience and immaturity to a posture of deep trust, surrender, and willingness before God.

Genesis 12:1-4 CSB
The Lord said to Abram: Go from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, I will curse anyone who treats you with contempt, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you. So Abram went..
Genesis 22:1-3 NASB
Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you.” So Abraham got up early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him and his son Isaac; and he split wood for the burnt offering, and set out and went to the place of which God had told him.
