Polyfjord | Nature's Prophet Rendering Time-Lapse @Polyfjord | Uploaded October 2013 | Updated October 2024, 5 days ago.

Thought I'd make a time-lapse of the entire process the 3D model goes through when rendering in Blender. Did some post production in After Effects. Render time for the final result was about 20 minutes. Added sunglasses for Cyborgmatt love.
The song used is called "The Money Song" and was added using Youtube's "Audio Swap".
The video includes the following:
0:03 - Downloading the Nature's Prophet model from the Dota 2 Workshop
0:08 - Importing the model to Blender using the Blender SMD Tools
0:12 - Assigning materials using nodes (in Cycles)
0:38 - Posing
1:05 - Making of the cloak using a very basic cloth simulation
1:49 - Modeling the sunglasses
2:20 - Setting up lighting for rendering
3:10 - Rendering final result and doing post production in After Effects
Thanks for watching! :D
I hope this will answer many questions about how to render the Dota 2 models downloaded from the workshop. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them below :)
Plug-ins used are Optical Flares and FMP by Video Copilot. Recorded with Fraps.
