Newly acquired land in the rolling North Chilterns hills gives Natural England the opportunity to do something truly remarkable for nature recovery in this chalk downland landscape.

Located in the North Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and part of the Hexton Estate, the site connects two existing National Nature Reserves, and sits close to two Sites of Special Scientific Interest.

It’s also right on the doorstep of the urban communities of Luton, Dunstable and Hitchin.

At Hexton we will be working with partners and local communities over coming years and decades to deliver nature recovery on a landscape scale and make a positive change for wildlife, for climate and for people.
