Dr. Eric Mack gives a partial defense of the rights at the core of much liberal thought. In particular, this lecture provides some lines of reasoning in defense of rights-based political theory that arrive at libertarian conclusions.
This lecture was part of the online IHS summer seminar, “The Classical Liberal Tradition,” which took place June 16-21, 2020.
Eric Mack is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at Tulane University. As a member of the Department of Philosophy and a faculty member of the Murphy Institute of Political Economy at Tulane, he taught courses in ethical theory, the philosophy of law, political economy, political philosophy, and the history of political theory.
