Today we will be making fire cider and chicken broth in my witch's kitchen. Both are excellent natural cold and flu remedies and of course, we will fuel them with an extra bit of kitchen witch magick to serve as healing potions for you or your loved ones.
As the autumn weather is continuously getting colder and wetter and grey rainy days are more frequent, outdoor adventures turn into muddy, windy affairs and many people find themselves catching a cold or even the flu.
As a green witch, I have been spending a lot of time outside admiring autumn's colorful dress-up and have got my feet cold and wet while foraging for wild mushrooms and nuts. As you might hear in my voice, I am also battling the flu at the moment so I thought it was high time for some kitchen witchery and to make two healing dishes that with their naturally healthy ingredients and added magickal intentions will help you and your loved ones to fight off a nasty cold all-natural and gentle.
First, we will be mixing up a spicy potion - fire cider A powerful concoction made of all kinds of natural goodies that all come with healing properties that will give your immune system a powerful boost.
And then we will cook a comforting broth from fresh veggies and, if you are a carnivore, we will add in chicken. This is my number one go-to recipe when feeling under the weather and so far it has always succeeded in making me feel better.
This will be the only video I upload this week as I need to rest up, but next week I will be back with a witch vlog and some tips and tricks for (spiritual and witchy) self-care :)
Natural Fire cider Recipe
1 Orange
1 Lemon
15 cm Ginger
0.5 Fennel
10 Garlick cloves
1 Onion
1 Horseradish
10 Chili peppers and variations
2 tsp Tumeric
750 - 1250 ml unpasteurized Apple cider vinegar
Honey to sweeten finished product
Chicken Broth Recipe
1 Soup chicken or 10 chicken drum sticks
2 Onions
4 carrots
1 leek
0.5 celery root
Enough water to cover the chicken
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
