here is a video how i have setup my Native Instruments Maschine Mikro MK3 controller to work in Midi Mode with Toontracks Superior Drummer 3 and as Bonus, i also show how i use it to control Neural DSP Tim Henson Plugin, which works great for switching presets, through the amps and turn on/off the stomp boxes
the Native Instruments Controller Editor is a really powerful tool, its a little bit timeconsuming to setup everything but i love how i can use the Maschine Mikro with its colored Pads to play my favorite virtual instruments.
To have the option of coloring the pads, makes playing much more intuitive and easy, at least for me.
to Work with superior drummer, o have setup different groups
the first one is the main group with some kick and snare drums, some basic ride and hihats and also 2 crash cymbal
the 2nd group is the tom group, then a group just for hi-hat articulations, and the ride group and then 3 cymbal groups, where you can have direct accesof all the articulations that Superior Drummer 3 has to offer
the library you hear is the new Fields of Rock SDX, which sounds really amazing
Also i did setup to work with Tim Henson Plugin by Neural DSP.
I wish that the plugin would report back the midi-state of each detail so that the controller would be able the show if the stom box is enabled or disabled.
playing the tim henson plugin with my nik huber krautster II guitar in worn ice blue, just jamming around with one preset, and then switching through the presets. i really dont like using a mouse when i´m playing with an ampsim, so the Native Instruments Maschine comes handy as a controller as its already sitting on the desk next to my keyboard anyway, so why not use it?
