May is National Electrical Safety Month (NESM), as sponsored by the Electrical Safety Foundation International (www.esfi.org). ESFI is a non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to promoting electrical safety at home and in the workplace. To commemorate National Electrical Safety Month (NESM) each May, ESFI spearheads an annual campaign to educate key audiences about the steps that can be taken to reduce the number of electrically related fires, fatalities, injuries, and property loss.

In this episode of NFPA Tech Talks, Electrical Technical Lead, Corey Hannahs, and ESFI Executive Director, Jennifer LeFevre, sit down to talk more about NESM 2026. They discuss how we can improve electrical safety for homeowners and electrical professionals though areas such as qualified workers, safety culture, listed products, electric vehicle charging, and lithium-ion batteries. Be sure to listen in to learn more!
