NASA has launched its newest space observatory, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, on a mission to search for planets beyond our solar system.

Lifted into space aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy Rocket, the $4.3 billion bus-sized telescope will travel 1 million miles from Earth.

Over its multi-year mission, it will capture the expansive deep-space views to help astronomers discover distant worlds and map the universe with unprecedented speed.
