What does it take to send a camera around the Moon?
For the Artemis II mission, NASA didn’t choose the newest, flashiest gear… they chose reliability. And that’s where the Nikon D5 and Nikon Z9 come in.

In this video, I break down why these cameras were selected to document one of humanity’s most important space missions in decades. From extreme temperature swings and radiation exposure to zero-gravity operation, space is one of the harshest environments imaginable — and yet these cameras were trusted to perform flawlessly.

Because at the end of the day… the “best” camera isn’t the newest one — it’s the one that won’t fail when it matters most.

I also won't speak on the political decisions there could be with China products in NASA's camera choices as I do not know the facts and it would be pure speculation
