On October 1, 2011 around 10:17 UT two solar flares erupted within a very short period of time. One originated out of active region 1302 and the other 1305. We have learned that certain events are connected with each other - in this case active regions far apart can be linked together by magnetic fields and can erupt one after another.
Since AR 1305 was fairly centered yesterday, we might be seeing some geomagnetic effects around October 4, 2011. Changes for aurorae at high latitudes are possible.
In the second video segment you can also observe the October 1, 2011 eclipse - where Earth is moving in between the spacecraft and the Sun for over 40 minutes.
