🚀 LIVE COUNTDOWN — Artemis II launches April 1, 2026 at 6:30 PM ET
For the first time since Apollo 17 in 1972, humans are leaving Earth's orbit
and heading to the Moon. NASA's Artemis II will carry 4 astronauts — Reid
Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canada's Jeremy Hansen — on a
historic 10-day free-return journey around the Moon and back.
This is the farthest and fastest crewed spaceflight in history.

- Liftoff from Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39B
- SLS producing 8.8 million lbs of thrust at launch
- First woman & first person of color to travel beyond Earth orbit
- First non-American on a lunar mission (Jeremy Hansen, CSA)
