This is the first fight in storm 1 (out of 4) to be anything more than a basic battle.
The main strategy here is to use shuriken (especially chakra charged) frequently. Using attack boosting items and full combos are your best bet, his jutsu really isn't useful.
Always be prepared for him to slam his sword, it happens at random and with little notice, always be on the move and it's a good idea to be near the centre frequently, as it preps you to avoid all types of attacks.
