Alright… let me just say that I never thought I would talk about this subject.
It seemed as if everyone had already made up their minds. And to say anything challenging that consensus would also mean giving up any shred of credibility I had…
But now, it’s finally time to talk about Nanotyrannus! The dinosaur that, despite being extinct for 66 million years and memed into irrelevance… Just won’t stay dead.
In the years since the first fossil discovery of this animal way back in 1942, there has been a constant back and forth about whether it was a separate species, a completely new genus or a juvenile of the most famous carnivorous dinosaur to ever exist. Tyrannosaurus rex.
No matter what, the fossils of this mysterious mid-sized predator seemed to fill a missing piece in the Hell Creek environment. So when new information came out in October 2025, I figured it was finally time to talk about it! Not just covering the new information which should settle this debate once and for all, but also tell the story of how we got to this point where everyone dismissed what was right in front of our face for decades.
Because as it turns out, someone knew all along! And I want to talk about that!
