PatrickScottPatterson.com - This is the first in an occasional series of short videos aimed to highlight the prominent names from gaming's past with an emphasis on those that might not be well known about today.

This first edition features clips of champion gamer Donn Nauert. After setting several world record scores in the mid-to-late 1980s, Nauert went on to captain the US National Video Game Team. He was a big part of several gaming magazines including the early issues of Electronic Gaming Monthly.

In the later 80s, Donn even endorsed several gaming products, hosted videotapes with tips and tricks for the popular games of the day and helped create a series of books with tips and tricks as well.

Donn's world record scores on titles such as Cheyenne, Alien Syndrome, Crossbow and Danger Zone are still world record scores today more than a quarter century after he set them.

In the early 1990s, Nauert went on to work for several video game companies directly, including Acclaim and THQ. According to LinkedIn.com, he currently works for Jakks Pacific, makers of several plug-and-play video game devices for your home television set.
