Around 2016 I bought a Namco Aerosmith's Quest for Fame arcade machine. I thought it was like 14-15, but time flies. Found soon after that it was not dumped and decided to look into people that could dump it. No one I knew had any leads so took a search and found one. Got the media CD "dumped". Then sent the board out to get dumped. Apparently it never reached the dumper, but the dumper has a board and refuses to dump it today.
After watching the Um Jammer Lammy arcade lost media video I noticed that they had a media CD with that game and were able to pull videos from it. Since I still own my media disc I could do the same! Found that the files were .STR, which is a Playstation 1 file type. Found a converter from .STR to .AVI. It's not the best quality, but it's something!
Just got everything converted today. Not everything could be included since it's Aerosmith. I may not be able to keep this video up, but I am sure it will be shared around.
I included most of the files excluding the band's performances. I also included some images of the cabinet, guitar, drum, and inner cabinet. I also found a new video that was left on my old phone.
There was only 1 button for the guitar and drum. The guitar was a light sensor were you pass over it to "strum". The drum was a pressure mat (or something like that) just an on or off.
The cabinet was in bad shape. When I got it the lower back was missing and the backside of the cabinet was falling into the machine. We tried to put some wood to support it, but did not move the cabinet much. The bass speakers on the bottom of the cabinet were fake, just for show. Most of the speakers on the top of the cabinet were the actual speakers. If I remember correctly the the flash lights in the cabinet are normal lights and have a colored filter they go through.
I traded the cabinet in 2018 when the arcade I worked at closed and it could no longer be stored outside. It did not get rained on, just sat under a roof.
The game was not very good and when it was in the arcade made okay money.
