NAIC REVIEW: I TOOK CALY SHADOW & ZAMAZENTA | 2025 VGC REG I
Are y'all surprised? I took Calyrex Shadow Rider and Zamazenta to NAIC. Let's take a look.
The team is standard. The CSR has Encore to punish defensive plays, and enough defensive EV's to usually survive Surging Strikes from Mystic Water Urshifu. Zamazenta has just enough speed to always out-speed Kyogre and Groudon, max defense for Body Press damage, and the rest in HP for bulk.
The defensive core of the team is also standard. I'm boring, I know. Rillaboom almost always survives a Specs, Helping Hand Boosted Draco Meteor from Miraidon on Grassy Terrain. Incineroar usually survives Surging Strikes from NON-Mystic Water Urshifu. Amoonguss always survives a Psychic from Focus Sash Calyrex Shadow Rider. Finally, Dark Urshifu was my meta call for the team. We've seen the sixth slot stay malleable, but with Amoonguss I thought breaking through Wide Guards and Protects was too valuable.
