The Naegi Castle Ruins are set upon Mount Takamori (432m) in Nakatsugawa, Gifu prefecture.
Constructed between 1532 and 1555, the castle was built to control the land and river routes between Owari and Mino provinces.
In the top 100 mountaintop castles of Japan, Naegi castle should be on any tourists' list of what to see and do in Gifu prefecture.
