We filmed this at Lake Powell, Utah this summer aboard our houseboat "The Millennial Escape". Admittedly, PoX is a little rusty: only breaking out the glowsticks about 3 times a year these days. He just needs to be reminded of how much people enjoy his performances now and then ;)
I plan on attempting to learn the flow wand myself so I can join in his dancing; we'll work on some choreographed stuff eventually!
You can catch PoX at various furry and anime convention dances, (he'll even teach you how to poi if you ask)

It is a camera vision system for creature costumes, made to give the actor both the ability to see in virtually any costume as well as increased hearing. It uses a pair of MyVu Personal Media Viewer video glasses hooked up to a self-powered tiny bullet camera from Sony. It features a wide angled lens and 420p color resolution with quick disconnect and an approximate battery life of (hopefully) 2-3 hours for the screen. Stay tuned for more developments with this system!

In this panel, we will discuss how to perform safely as a more aggressive character.
Aeto has been an active costumer for nearly fifteen years, both building and performing in realistic-styled fursuits, and has been performing as aggressive, demonic characters for around half that time. During this period, he has volunteered at haunted attractions in California, Illinois, and most recently Washington State, performing in these characters.
-----------
Monoyasha and I attended Further Confusion 2013 together and participated in Aetobatus' "How to be a Demon" panel for advice and stories on how to perform properly as a character who is much less cute and cuddly... but more intimating and monstrous in both its appearance and acting. We enjoyed ourselves greatly and I hope to share some tips with anyone who was ever curious what they missed during the panel. Thank you Aeto for the presentation!

You will regret watching this forever. Seriously. Look away. Right now.
... Well don't say I didn't warn you. You cannot un-watch. So happy cringing!
I made this video (ten years ago now) with my college roommate/best friend from high school about going to the store and buying a huge roll of foam so we could make that year's annual Pokemon cosplays.
But as we filmed it, we thought it would be funny and satirical to pretend to act and talk like weeabos of the internet at the time but in real life. LOL SO RANDOM. So we were obnoxious, silly, and entirely over-the-top for added entertainment value, going on and on about how awesome we and the foam were (even talking in... *sigh* leetspeak, because that was a thing) while buying the foam, shouting "We got fooooam!" to everyone on the street as we drove by, and rolling around on the floor with it with friends back in the dorms. That's it. That's the whole video. So prepare to be disappointed.
My YouTube audience loved it to the point where we started getting fanart and people making their own videos hugging rolls of foam or whatever. It was a dumb thing we did on a whim for the sake of a laugh.
And then 4-chan got hold of it... and up popped 'You Rage You Lose' threads about it... and that's how we became minor internet infamous as a very cringy meme.
Ehhhh Some regrets.

This is a project I did back in 2012 for my audio class. The assignment was to design a soundscape- combination of sounds that forms an immersive environment. I decided to give it a science fiction theme and add full dialog to complete the story. It is based on a radio drama I created back in 10th grade.
If you are interested in downloading the audio file, check out the upload on SoundCloud: soundcloud.com/caninehybrid-1/xaria-original-sci-fiDigilegs DemoCanineHybrid2013-03-18 | I borrowed a pair of Digilegs by Area 51 for a test run! My friend RoothDragon purchased a pair of digitigrade stilts awhile back and I got the opportunity to try them out myself. I have had prior experience with a homemade pair of digi stilts built by Wizard Gir- in which the design was inspired by Kim Graham and Weta Workshop's earlier prototypes. You can see these stilts in a previous video of mine. It was an interesting experience getting to compare the two models and I was very pleased with the Digileg's performance.
This video is a compilation of clips from a 25 minute session with the legs- I was able to easily stand without requiring a break or even feeling tired the entire time and felt that I could have gone on much longer- maybe even an hour even with my first go at them... a huge difference considering my homemade pair was something I could only last 5 minutes in before needing to stop. They are super comfy but heavier than my homemade pair, Digilegs are 11lbs each (Gir's homemade stilts were 7.5 lbs each) for those curious. The hardest challenge is standing still due to the curved shape of their bottoms, this was something that I did prefer about Gir's flat-bottom stilts with the tapered edges.
I wanted to demonstrate a few different movements with the stilts that have not been previously shown before. I can jump about a half foot off the ground at best, am able to stand up and lower myself down, can pseudo-run, and do some fail martial arts :) Needless to say, I had an absolute blast and would have never taken them off if Rooth let me.
Filming started about 5 minutes after I put the stilts on for the first time (after an adjustment or two to ensure I could walk outside) and I began with the aid of a staff to best understand the behavior of the stilts. After about 12 minutes I stopped carrying the staff and went from there. I will be uploading the full 20 minute session to YouTube next, soon as editing is finished so you can hear my full review an commentary on the performance including lots of stilt and actor tips. This is just something quick to show them off for now.
Thanks ever so much to RoothDragon for the invite to try out his stilts and for filming the whole experience! Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
These stilts will serve as an inspiration for how to remake my homemade pair in regards to performance and safety as it was certainly an eye-opener! I hope to one day own a pair of Digilegs as well. I am using the digitigrade stilts for a raptor dinosaur costume set to be built later this year and progress updates will be posted online as the project reaches milestones.

This is a half suit and a prototype of a style I'm working on. Much of the build needs work to make it more performance ready, so if you try to duplicate anything you see here, do so at your own risk. If you use my designs, please mention my work as an inspiration for yours; it would be most appreciated! I work hard to produce unique, custom costumes but publicly reveling some of my progress is a privilege because I like to provide help and inspiration to others, so I appreciate your support and respect in this matter. Thank you guys! :)
Features: dimensionally sculpted digitigrade padding on the legs, that flex and bend with the wearer for a natural look while standing or moving. A segmented foam tail with wire core to mimic the flexibility of a skeleton to give lots of movement and life. Large, sculpted handpaws with an inner core to aid in finger dexterity to manipulate objects and open doors with handles. An example of how to transform my canine resin mask into a custom look with foam padding and other finishing touches.
This costume is considered a demonstration costume and will remain in this half-finished state for use at convention panels and as a learning tool. I will be created a second version that will be fully completed with fur and airbrushing.

Mask blanks are a great way to help you start building a unique costume of your own! Similar to a do-it-yourself kit, future add-ons will be available to help complete the look such as silicone noes, eyes, jawsets, and many others. This is actually the first hat I've ever made, and it was a much more difficult process than I expected. Everything was created by myself from scratch- even vectoring the eyes. And then it's taken over 24 work-hours to even get to this point. Crazy.
I am not currently taking hat commissions but would like to offer them in the future. Would anyone be interested in something like this? If I get enough interest in pony hats I might make a few and put them up for auction too.
And no I'm not a "brony", but I as an animation student I greatly admire the show and characters and have seen them all :)
