The Rewear Chair, which will be showcased later this month during Dutch Design Week, was developed by Uncommon Creative Studio as part of a campaign for eco-cleaning brand Ecover aimed at highlighting the environmental impact of everyday activities like laundry.
The bespoke piece is a playful reappraisal of the 'laundry chair' which exists in many bedrooms as a place for tossing worn clothes that aren't dirty enough to require washing.
The designers wanted to celebrate this behaviour as skipping washes and allowing clothes to air out on a chair can save water and energy, while also making clothes last longer.
"We're taking a common behaviour and turning it into something beautiful and intentional," explained Uncommon Creative Studio founder Nils Leonard.

"It's made up of five structures that we call islands," said Cho in an exclusive video interview with Dezeen.
"These islands surround a central void inspired by Madang, which are Korean traditional courtyard houses."
He went on to describe how structure, with each arm of its star shape serving a different purpose, encourages visitors to interpret it for their own use.
"I like to have people come in and feel at home - that's what happens in Madang in Korean traditional houses - and just freely explore what this space can offer and compose your own experience."

Suzuki's sound project was commissioned to coincide with the Art of Noise exhibition – a multi-sensory tribute to how design has shaped music consumption over the past 100 years – at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SMOMA).
Positioned at SMOMA's entrance, Suzuki's sculptures are visible from a distance and have a distinct technicolour appearance that contrasts against the muted palette of the museum's architecture.
The artist was inspired by the shapes of trees when designing the sculptures, which contain speakers transmitting sounds that reference the San Francisco Bay area.
"The sculpture's form, inspired by trees, symbolises a welcoming presence, while its colours draw from local objects, landmarks, and natural surroundings, further anchoring it in the context of the city," Suzuki told Dezeen.

Schalkx's DIY project, titled The Plastic Car (Is Made of Metal), consists of an old red Volvo with a roof-mounted "de-refinery" that heats plastic to obtain oil for the fuel tank.
Schalkx, who is interested in DIY as a form of responsible design and living, wanted to build a car with a similarly original energy source and chose plastic because there was a ready supply to be found in his own household recycling.
He sourced an old car from a scrapyard in Germany, fixed it up to be road-legal and fitted his "de-refinery", which he says is quite similar to a "normal oil refinery", to the top.

During the talk, which was moderated by Yoko Choy, China editor for Wallpaper*, Leung described her collaboration with whisky makers Richard Paterson and Gregg Glass, with whom she worked to develop a Dalmore 49-year-old single malt whisky housed in a unique glass sculpture.
"It wasn't just about the physical outcome of the project," she said, explaining how Paterson and Glass drew on her childhood memories to create the one-off edition, which will be up for auction at Sotheby's this week to raise money for V&A Dundee.
The final product is "imbued with all of our life experiences," she continued.
The event marked the second instalment of a partnership between V&A Dundee and The Dalmore called The Luminary Series, which pairs notable architects with whisky makers to produce limited edition whiskies.

Cho is the founder and lead architect of Mass Studies, an architecture practice based in Seoul, South Korea. He is the 23rd architect to be chosen for the Serpentine commission, and the pavilion will be his first building in the UK.
"This request felt like we were given a great riddle to demonstrate what this pavilion can do at this point," Cho told Dezeen.
"We understand architecture itself is not a beginning-to-end narrative, but is part of a larger act that is in between many befores and afters" said Cho.
Named Archipelagic Void, the pavilion is set to take the form of five structures or "islands", arranged in a constellation around a central void. Each of the five structures will have a separate purpose, such as a tea house, auditorium and play tower.
Cho told Dezeen how he took reference from traditional Korean architecture when designing the pavilion, especially in the use of negative space. The architect told Dezeen how the central void connecting each of the separate structures was informed by Korean madang, small courtyards found in traditional Korean homes.

Carved from American maple, the monumental furniture piece consists of a central serving table surrounded by five workstations for pounding boiled cassava and plantain into a dough.
This dough is then formed into small parcels reminiscent of dumplings, from which pieces are torn and used to scoop up soups and stews.
Tettey Nartey, who was born in South London but lived in Ghana for much of his childhood, designed the sculptural table to reframe the everyday act of making fufu as a ritual with tremendous social and cultural significance.
