The musical was conceptualised, written and rehearsed over a six day period and depicts the lives of teenagers in the modern day. #MYWAY Lyrics
Cut back eleven years
My dad in the kitchen reduced to tears,
By a cello refrain he'd been teaching me how to play.
I had begged him to switch from the strings to the keys
Every evening in the kitchen playing known melodies
Till a fumbled note showed me I could play songs other ways.
And in that moment I knew what I could be
Telling stories with a tempo and harmony
Knew I had something to share
Could be great just wait and see.
And every note would be perfect
Every beat of my story in the chords that I play.
And all the time spent would be worth it
