Mysterious Unused Characters:
Starting off we have Papa Dragon, which can be found in the original PS1 Manual of Spyro. He never appears in the game, and this is only appearance, This dragon is purple with orange wings, and looks a lot like Spyro. Fans speculate that this is either Spyro’s father, or Spyro when he grows up since he is wearing a medal implying he achieved some great accomplishment.
Next we have Mr.X From Donkey Kong Country 2: Mr. X is a scrapped Kremling character from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest. His intended role in the game remains unknown, but the German player’s guide suggests he may have been an important character, mysteriously describing him simply as “an enigma.”
Moving on we have Wapeach. She is a scrapped dark counterpart to Princess Peach intended for Wario and Waluigi in the game: Mario Power Tennis on the Nintendo GameCube. She was designed by the creator of Waluigi: she was meant to be a bossy, fierce rival who ordered Wario and Waluigi around, but Nintendo rejected the idea
Super Mario Galaxy contains an entirely unused character model called TicoJii. “Tico” is the Japanese name for Lumas, while “jii” implies an old man/grandfather, suggesting something like “Grandpa Luma.” unused assets give him animations, strengthening the idea that he was once intended to be a genuine character in the Mario Galaxy Series.
And Lastly is Fasty the Hippo who accidentally was thought to be a Crash Bandicoot Character. Video Game Artist Bob Rafei designed a travel mascot named Trippo for an air fare website, this character accidentally ended up in Crash Team Racing Concept Art, and fans thought it was a mystery character named Fasty the Hippo.
