I’m lucky to live in between the Catskills and the Adirondacks. The Adirondacks are a very special place and not just to those seeking adventure. NYS boasts the largest park in the contiguous US! Who knew NY had more than just a giant city?

One of my favorite spots is the “French Louis Loop”, a fantastic 20 mile loop connecting 3 trails in the remote West Canada Lakes wilderness in the southern Adirondacks.

Some of my information regarding Louis Seymour and one photo was found in the book “Adirondack French Louis” authored by Harvey Dunham, a 1952 classic on the life of “French Louis”.
