Myanmar Diaries comprises short films by 10 young anonymous Burmese filmmakers, combining emotionally harrowing citizen journalism that documents the junta’s brutality, as well as courageous acts of resistance.
Moving back and forth organically between documentary and fiction, the film shows how Myanmar goes from the military coup to nationwide protests, civil disobedience and barbaric repression. Thousands of peaceful protesters are imprisoned and murdered, spawning a growing popular armed revolt against this monstrous military junta.
