I am cleaning my altar up and ready for the holy day. I am actually feeling excited about the holiday season and all the preparation for it.
As we approach the longest night of the year, I have been reflecting on all I experienced in the last 12 months. I've had a long, hard mental health year, but I'm finally finding pleasure in the simple things again, and things are far less heavy. I've spent much time at the altar and prayed more than ever before, but more out of desperation than devotion. I have have set it up for Yule/Solstice and once again stand before it with love, gratitude, and devotion to the sacred feminine, the dark goddess, and my witch mother Holda, who along with my very patient and supportive husband, got me through what possibly was my most painful year of my life. I await the rebirth of the Sun with a joyful heart and am ready to drench myself in the light.
