My wife was in the car while I was listening to the David Wood vs Andrew Wilson debate. She doesn't follow apologetics. She's not in any tribe. She's not Orthodox, not Protestant. She's just a regular person hearing this cold.
Five minutes in, she looked at me and said, "That guy is a Christian?"
Then she said, "I don't think Christians should be listening to him."
That three-second gut reaction from someone with no horse in this race told me more about the state of Christian apologetics on YouTube than the entire four-and-a-half-hour debate did.

I'm not picking a team here. David is right on the main point: you don't co-sign attacks from people doxing Christian women just because you don't like the Christian being targeted. Andrew is right about one smaller thing: every creator builds parasocial audiences that protect their guy. Both observations are true. Neither excuses what happened on that stream.
I've seen this movie before. I came up in the online atheist world and watched the exact same tribal pattern eat that community alive. Personality cults. Comment-section zombies. Public figures who couldn't be criticized without the fan base swarming. The flavor of the dogma was different. The mechanics were identical.
This video is for the person sitting at home trying to figure out whether Christianity is true based on which one of these guys lands the better dunk. You are looking in the wrong place. If you want serious conversations about the historical Jesus, the New Testament, early Christianity, and what scholars actually say, read Dale Allison, Paula Fredriksen, Mark Goodacre, Bart Ehrman, Richard Bauckham, Craig Keener, and N.T. Wright. You will learn more in an afternoon than four and a half hours of this will teach you in a lifetime.
