Alright family — if you were in Fort Pierce this past weekend, you probably felt something. I want to talk about the launch of #ProtestCOG — the movement that started at the 13th Street Church of God on January 24th and brought people together in a way we haven’t seen in a minute here on the Treasure Coast. This wasn’t a small prayer circle or a quick photo op — it was a peaceful gathering with real passion, real people, and real conviction, calling for transparency, accountability, and reform within the Church and in how we engage with our communities.
What’s powerful about this isn’t just the gathering itself — it’s the heart behind it. Folks showed up not to fight each other, but to stand for something bigger than themselves. There was prayer, there was praise, and there was a boldness that said ‘we are watching, and we want change.’ That’s a big deal. And you know me — I’m all for righteous protest when it looks like love in motion mixed with conviction in action.
Now, let’s be honest — in the broader national context right now, protests and movements can get messy — people get loud, people get emotional, and sometimes things even get unsafe. But that’s why I’m glad #ProtestCOG was rooted in a church, in prayer, and in calling people back to higher ground — because when we take it to the Lord first, we’re not just yelling into the wind.
