In this video, I repair and upgrade my emergency Starlink Mini setup after the original adapter piece on my Veritas Vans roof mount cracked during use. This kit is part of my go-to emergency communication system, and I rely on it for off-grid connectivity when it matters most.
I walk through removing the damaged adapter, installing a replacement PeakDo Mini Mount Adapter style piece, and showing the updated fit and design differences compared to the original version. The new part includes a metal reinforcement piece over a plastic base, and it required a very tight fit during installation.
Once installed, I test how the system integrates with the PeakDo LinkPower II battery setup. I also explain how the mounting position changes slightly depending on whether the battery or mount interface is used. The final setup still allows access to ports and controls while keeping the system compact and functional.
This repaired system is now ready for travel and real-world testing at an event in Addy, Washington, for Memorial Day weekend. It will be used at a Thrive 2 Survive event booth to evaluate performance in a real deployment scenario.
