completely redesigned my setup with the tectonic bmr drivers (off ear speakers same as valve index)
I'm now able to transfer between headsets or headstraps easily with no rewiring.
haven't thought of a name yet, best I've come up with is 'Mags', original I know, comment any other ludicrous suggestions and if you would be interested in something like this for VR.
this has been in the works for some time, way before the Logitech chorus was released! but general lack of time and having to learn cad as I go had really pushed this back (nearly a year) now after a few days solid dedicated to this, I'm happy that I have a first functional prototype, with only the cosmetics to worry about if I offer it as a kit
to really flesh out a sort of ecosystem for this solution I'd need more headstraps so I can adjust the brackets to suit them, I'm unfortunately not a YouTuber that gets free stuff though so I can personally only make them for what I have.
with headstraps varying in dimensions it's been frustrating finding an audio solution to suit them all, I personally hate headphones ontop of VR headsets and have been using off ears for some time now due to comfort they offer, unfortunately it's been very locked down what they work on and part of the reason why I wanted to begin work making a universal solution.
this eventually could fit all quest headstraps given the brackets are adjusted, any upgrades you do or changes to headstraps should be as simple as clipping a new magnetic bracket on to suit, you already have great speakers, why should you need to buy another set for a different headstrap/headset?
