‼️Prep 2020 vs. Prep 2023‼️
I just hit 8 weeks out for my current show but the crazy thing is that the video on the left I was only one week out. 👀 I was definitely leaner on the left but this shows that I am in a really good spot for 8 weeks out and things are running pretty smooth.
I still have some leaning out to do, but I am feeling confident with where I am at currently in my prep. I won’t have to be killing myself last second trying to get my conditioning where it should be.
Which leads me to say: It is better to be on the early side with conditioning than behind. You can always slow things down, but it is much harder to speed things up.😅
Size is important and I have worked damn hard to put on more size the past three years, but size doesn’t matter if you can’t get on stage in shape.
You need both size AND conditioning. ‼️
Don’t shred down if you don’t have the size, and don’t expect to do well on stage if you have size but don’t have the conditioning.
Building size and getting conditioned are two seperate beasts that are both challenging in their own ways. My biggest struggle is the eating part so putting on size is a biggeer struggle for me. This is why I took 3 years off to make sure I was stepping on stage with more muscle. 💪
If you are looking to step on stage one day my biggest peice of advice is:
✅Stay patient: Dont’ step on stage before you are physically and mentally ready.
✅Be Honest with yourself: Bodybuilding takes going to the extremes. Is it something that you are mentally prepared for? 100% recommend hiring a coach so you have an outside perspective.
8 Weeks out! Can’t wait to see what I look like one week out this time around!
