Tom Flores learned this tradition at the conclusion of his first Super Bowl win as the backup quarterback for Lenny Dawson with the Kansas City Chiefs. He went on to win both as an assistant coach in Super Bowl XI and head coach in Super Bowl XV yet because of extenuating circumstances didn't speak with President Reagan until he won Super Bowl XVIII in 1983.
