Here's a preview of tones I use on live performances. To be honest I mostly use dry clean, dry distortion and some delay but I like to have a few additional fx presets to use in a few bars per song.
Rig contains:
1. Hufschmid 18th Anniversary guitar
2. Taurus Stomp-Head 5 - guitar amp
3. DIY midi controlled wah
4. T.C Electronic G-major - rack fx unit
5. Behringer FCB1010 - midi foot controller
6. David Laboga DL112 custom cabinet
What I like about that particular set is:
- possible to carry at once
- light weight
- ability to play directly through cab emulated line out (if really necessary)
- endless options of programming FCB which gives me two modes per each of ten switches.
- low space need on the floor
- amp channels controlled by g-major - no need to dance on the pedalboard to launch a few options at the same time
- always one and the same preset layout, no matter which musical project I play with - all necessary presets fit among those 10 switches.
In other words...no compromise with tone quality and available options, while there is a huge compromise in size and weight of whole rig.
In the video there is a mix of sm57 and cam microphone to get something in between the studio recording and the way we hear amps in the room
At this moment cabinet is loaded with Celestion RockD.
