After diving into the Church Fathers, the men who wrote and defended the Creeds, I realized that our protestant re-definition of "Catholic" as a general reference to all Christians was false.
The "Catholic Church" of the Fathers was one visible society united by faith, worship, and government. It was nothing like the "little c catholic" idea I heard so often as a protestant.
