my little pumpkin was based on 12 stitches
Row 1: 2 sl st, 2 sc, 4 hdc, 2 sc, 2 sl st
Row 2: 1 sl st, 2 sc, 6 hdc, 2 sc, 1 sl st

(instead of the bobbles for legs, I chain 12, sl st back 2, (ch 3, sl st back 2) x 2 (three toes made), then sl st back down the chain.
