CJ gained plenty of fans around the world when he shared his medical journey with Truly back in 2020 and now he's back again to tell us what life's been like since his first episode. Opening up, he revealed, "For the first time in my life, I'm able to walk pain-free." Born with Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency, it means that CJ doesn't have a femur bone on his right leg. "Doctors cut my leg off and turned it around 180 degrees to get my foot to act as my knee. And it turned my knee into my hip," he explained. Alongside this, CJ also has Multiple Hereditary Exostoses, which causes benign tumours to grow throughout childhood. Now a proud dad to two girls, Quinn and Kaci, CJ has passed Multiple Hereditary Exostoses onto his daughters. "I knew that this disease is more treatable than it ever has been. I know that they'll probably have some surgeries through high school and I feel like that it's my responsibility to just make that as easy as possible on them." In this new version of Born Different, we'll be catching up with CJ as he tells us about the big medical changes he's encountered and how he'll support his girls as they navigate their own medical journeys.
