I air my grievances on the current superspeedway product WITHOUT a mention of fuel saving that happens for over 70-80% of the race. Does this constant 3 and 4 wide racing while fuel saving look really cool and create amazing optics? Of course. Does that 2 wide stalemate when actually going full throttle create more of a chance for a photo finish? You bet it does. But, what does that stuff actually do for the race when everyone is stuck in place with nowhere to go? If your driver is 7th in his line, does he actually have a shot to do anything noteworthy? Probably not, because he doesn't have the track position. There needs to be more separation between cars, lanes need to actually be able to get an advantage, otherwise nothing actually happens, and the same few guys lead the lanes for an entire run.
