Now I made a video about my paycheck money routine, and it got over 1M views, I hope it helped everyone who watched it. I hope this one helps a lot of people to.
But now since then, something massive has happened, I’m now married, and its not just my budget and what I want to do with the money but it's us and what we think we should be doing with the money and so on.

1. My Budget has changed a lot ( but not really )
- Not really in the sense that I’m still frugal and my wife is also frugal
- But she does like to travel and so we have a fund for that
- It is important to get on the same page ( so let me mention a few big things )
I believe:
- When you marry someone, you are becoming one person ( as the bible says )
- So I don’t have my money and she doesn’t have her money ( we just have our money )
- She doesn’t contribute to any bills and neither do I, because we do that
- I work right now and she is at home, and that’s a massive privilege ( but it is also because we keep our bills low )
- But because I make the money, I’m not out here saying you have to obey every decision I make, everything is pretty much a conversation
Tip:
- People will always have trust issues but it should stop you from doing the right thing
- And being married and having a partner
- And only being half committed doesn’t result in good results if you know what I mean
2. Before you can do something with what you earn you have to know what you spend
Our first Cost is Shelter:
- This is where we live
- We spend about $154 per month for a 2 bed 1 bath apartment
- I used to pay 0$ because I had a paid off house, but I sold that house in Puerto Rico and now live in the Dominican Republic
Second Utilities:
- Gas, water, light, phone bill and internet
- Add up to around $100 per month
Food:
- We spend about $256 in total
- We eat about 80% of our meals at home
- And only about 20% outside
Transportation:
- My wife came with a car
- And between gas and all that stuff
- We spend about $110
Other Cost:
- like insurance
- other spending and giving
- maybe around $580 bucks
the total amount and I rounded the numbers for simplicity: $1,200
but if things got hard and difficult: we could spend a lot less
- beucase we also have in this budget 200 we save for annual vacation and so on
3. My personal routine when the money hits the account is this
- I have a nonactive landing account
- This account is without a debit card, all it does is receive the cash
Emergency account
Debt payment account
Investment account t
Expenses account
Fun account
Charity account
These are 6 ways that I use my money, they are not really 6 different accounts that I have and that I use all the time
Let me explain:
- I already funded my emergency account for 12 months ( that’s in a separate high-yield saving account – no debit card )
- Debt ( I don’t have any, so this account doesn’t exist and even if I had, I would need to send money to the debt, no need for an account, to save other people money )
- Investment ( I’ve paused investing, but i used to send 10-20% of my cash over, but for now I pause. Reason: I’m thinking about diversifying into real estate and I also want to buy a home for my family )
- Expenses ( separate account with two debit cards for both of us)
- Fun ( I don’t have it, but I should have a separate joint account with a debit card, here we get charge for having a debit card is the problem )
- Charity ( just do your charity when you get the cash )
