Also known as Federal Hill, this was the mansion of the Rowans, a prominent Kentucky family. One of the cousins was songwriter Stephen Foster, who was somewhat inspired to write "My Old Kentucky Home" after this place. This has become an icon for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, even appearing on a postage stamp and the back of the Kentucky quarter. I took a tour of the mansion, but there was no video or any kind of photography allowed.
