After my last visit to @Sewellmotorcoach I was given the opportunity of a lifetime by Doug. Rather than just fly home, he suggested I drive myself home in a 1996 Liberty XL Prevost luxury bus conversion. And I was welcome to buy it as is or re-model/restore/update it anyway I want and then keep it or return it. Really there is no way I would pass up such an unheard of chance with absolutely minimal risk. Moreover, I could still keep it and use it even if it took years to complete.
So I will endeavor to share as much of this process with you and document it, but there is a lot of work to do, so you might get sick of this Liberty bus.
The drive went very well with only a few minor hiccups, but the engine was strong the suspension felt great and the transmission had no issues.
I want to thank Doug and his crew for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to enter the world of motorcoach ownership? While I very recently sold my incredible 2001 Beaver Patriot Thunder, which I never thought possible I would own, due to personal life limitations and promised obligations. This bus will not be ready for some time, so life may change before I am done. I have not decided whether I will be keeping this yet, but I am anxiously excited to begin bringing this bus back to life.
