daemn42 | My new 369mph PB on Dynamic 130 at 2019 DS Fest @daemn42 | Uploaded April 2019 | Updated October 2024, 4 hours ago.
I've owned this 40+lb, 130 inch plane over 3 years and I've never had enough wind to fly (more specifically land) it. Was waiting for average of 35 gusting over 40 and finally got it. On my first flight I went 367 and this my second flight, 369 (radar gun just out earshot), both new personal bests for me. The plane launches easily with some camber and was stable and fast in the groove and most importantly to me, is very easy to see everywhere in the circuit at all orientations. It slows down for landing OK, but will drop the last foot if the ground speed drops to zero, and the bounce isn't good for it, so figure I need to slide it in a bit more.
Video recorded with Hero 7 at 2.7K@30fps Linear FoV, stabilization on, and cropped further in post.
Audio from Zoom H2 recorder with dead cat windscreen, and compressor applied in post, to pick up a bit more of the plane on the far side of the circuit.
