The Matchbox brand of diecast cars was made in England from 1953 to 1982, when Lesney went bankrupt. After 1982 the Matchbox brand was sold to a number of manufacturers until in 1997 it was bought by Mattel (who produced their erstwhile rivals Hot Wheels). This shelf is for my post 1982 collection of Matchbox cars.
