Magpiepony | "My Little Pony Holiday" - The Making of the 'Festival of Trees' Tree @Magpiepony | Uploaded December 2018 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
The “My Little Pony Holiday” Tree for the Festival of Trees Utah was a complete and utter success! A very special thanks to TheLostNarrator, Niall of the Nine, and my family for helping me to put everything together and make the display. An even BIGGER thank you to everyone who donated to this incredible project, we had dozens of toys, ornaments, and financial backing to make all of this possible! The tree sold for $3,800, all of which went directly to the Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital. Additional funds from the Gofundme also went directly to Primary Children’s.
When I was a little girl, I always dreamed of being a part of this festival. I knew that with all the love and support of my fans and friends I could finally make that dream a reality. Our tree kind of became the unofficial ‘star’ of the festival as it was shown several times on T.V. broadcasts of the event as well as dozens upon dozens of images. Every time Lost and Myself went to see the tree, there were LINES of families waiting to see the full display and take pictures. I’ve linked someone’s COMPLETE walk-through of the festival, and even on there you can hear kids excited to see the tree. In a sea of green, red, and white, our pink tree definitely stood out. You could see the twilight tree topper from anywhere in the hall! We had so many compliments from people on decorating day, who left their own trees to come comment on the pony one. I think we did the Brony fandom proud!
So will I do this again next year? I certainly want to! Ponies aren’t the only mark we can make, maybe Lost and I will tackle another fandom-themed tree? Or a smaller pony one? Who knows! We’ll find out next year ;)
A walk-through of the entire festival:

(Note: The MLP Tree is at timestamp 9:00. You can hear little kids squeeing over the tree too, it’s adorable!)
