I have been lamenting over the state of our world. I have been specifically disappointed in the ways that we, Christians, have been representing Jesus in the way that we talk, post, and have non-civil discussions on the internet.
So yesterday, I wrote this spoken word poem as a way to help express my feelings. CHURCH, we have to get to a point where our every action is motivated by this question: "does it help people find and follow Jesus?"
I think we have strayed far from that.
Left wing, right wing, democrat, republican, black, white, etc....it doesn't matter. There are no exemptions when you decide to follow Christ. There are no, "I'm a Christian, but..." statements. I pray that some day soon, we can begin to love God and love people...and nothing else is our focus.
I think the world would start looking like a much better place if we kept the main thing the main thing. #jesus
