Back in 2009 I was the technical and stage consultant of the guy in this video (Michel Keck) for the TV Show "De Nieuwe Uri Geller" aka "The Next Uri Geller" or in the US "Phenomenon". We met because he was a stage hypnosis student of mine. And he saw some of my mentalism and was like: "When they do a new season of the Next Uri Geller! Then you'll be my coach/engineer consultant." And I was like: "sure..." Never thinking there'd be another season. 8 Months later I got an email from the production company whether I wanted to be in the show (like the first season I turned them down) because I had my own show back then, with a good nice clientele -- I even performed my stage hypnosis and mentalism shenanigans in the US! 2 hours later Michel called and reminded me of the deal.
As a thank you for 3, extremely hectic months, he took us out for a ride in a KITT replica.
That evening when I got home, I was so stoked, that I grabbed the guitar and started layering all those parts. Everything is guitar, except for the drums that are from EZ-Drummer. So no synths for a change.
That gig actually got me working in the TV/Film business. First as a FX and magic/hypnosis consultant. And later as a VFX guy. Electrical and Computer engineering translates really well into FX (prop making, exploding light bulbs, or systems that can allegedly predict anything) and VFX is just applied computer graphics. So I should actually be thank Michel for dragging my ass into SBS6 :D
