The Eternatus debut should have been a highlight, but instead, many players were upset that Eternatus couldn’t be caught directly after battles, turning what should have been an epic moment into a letdown.
Another major frustration was the high cost of entry. To maximize rewards, trainers had to spend large amounts of coins on raid passes, incubators, and bonuses. This paywall made the event feel less accessible, especially compared to past finales that balanced free-to-play and premium content more effectively. Many trainers voiced concerns that the pricing model is pushing Pokémon GO further into a pay-to-win experience.
