Garter snakes are some of the best pet snakes! Melanistic Eastern garter snakes (Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis) and Red-Sided Garter Snakes (Thamnophis sirtalis parietalis) are among the most beautiful garter snakes. In this video I show you some of my snakes and describe my breeding plans for 2025.

I have 2 male melanistic garter snakes and an unrelated female melanistic garter.

Don’s Garter Snakes is loaning me a female het melanistic to pair as well. I also have a young eastern female garter snake with Flame ancestry- which is the same subspecies as my melanistic—that I am hoping to pair with my melanistic male garters as well.

I am pairing my female Red-sided garter snake (not California red-sided) with an unrelated male Red-sided I have in loan from Don as well.
