“My Funny Valentine” by Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart! Baritone ukulele cover played on my Lanikai acacia baritone.
It’s been a very busy week (I’m always thankful when there’s lots of work to do!) so I wasn’t planning to release anything until next week. But it’s been quite a while since I really sang and just tried to enjoy the sound of my own voice. So today I used a break between lessons to record this cover. I was taught that these lyrics should be imagined as the lyricist looking in the mirror and speaking to himself. It becomes less about critiquing a romantic partner and more about choosing to enjoy your own imperfect self. That’s very much how I felt today l, so I hope this resonates with you!
