Creating a Flow/Junk Journal — Part 4: Adding the Grommet & Closure
Welcome back to Part 4 of my flow journal series! In this video, we’re finishing up some of the important details by adding a grommet and closure to the journal.
The grommet on the spine is important if you plan to add a chunky Dangle and we are doing that last! Stay tuned.
I’ll show you how I add the grommet and create the closure to help keep everything together while still giving the journal that fun, handmade junk-journal feel.

Cotton Fabric
Box
Aileen’s Tacky Glue / and Glue stick
Scissors
Brayer (newly added)
Paper cutter / ruler
Craft or construction paper for inside box covers
Old credit card
Parchment or wax paper
Masking tape (maybe)
Hole punch grommet for dangle
Hitch fastener for closure
Stretchy cord for closure
Or awl pokey tool
Wax Thread
Beads large & small for dangle
Ribbon or yarn to tie in signatures
Scrap paper for signature covers
Scrap paper for pages
Music sheets for pages
Asian papers
Newspaper
Painty papers for pages
Gelli prints
Book pages
Art pages
Magazine pages
Envelopes
Deli sheets
Washi tape
Paper clips
Strips of fabric for paper clips
Ephemera = JUNK, ETC.
