Jonah Lobe | My first [real] Demo Reel! @JonahLobeDraws | Uploaded 9 years ago | Updated 11 hours ago
Before I landed a job at Bethesda Softworks, I took it upon myself to learn the skills needed to join the industry. I went to Siggraph, where I showed off my portfolio of illustrations, but I was told there that I needed a more specific demonstration of 3D knowledge; if I was to be a Character Artist, I had to demonstrate a proficiency with character art!
So I re-tooled. For many months, I taught myself new programs and rendering techniques. I assembled a new portfolio, and worked with a friend to help me compile a new Demo Reel.
This was 2005.
The track I used was Glsli, by the inimitable Sigur Rs!
